If I Become a Zookeeper?
Frequent work assignments include cleaning enclosures, feeding, observing and recording behavior, assembling enrichment products, training the animals, administering basic veterinary care, and teaching zoo visitors. Some zookeepers operate with more than 1 kind of animal, but some concentrate on a group like primates or even carnivores. These professionals invest a great deal of time together with animals and therefore are sometimes in danger for snacks, scrapes, and scratches. Additionally, they work irregular hours, including nights and weekends. The job is rewarding for somebody who loves animals and would like to educate the general public about them.
